Who to Bug?
Jennifer Seltzer
Mrs. Jennifer Seltzer is the brains of our operation, and ensures that we do everything safely while having as much fun as possible! She spends her time juggling the teams that she leads, setting up meetings and check-ins with her other team leaders, and writing out her ideas for expanding and supporting the folks employed at the MEM. Don’t bug her, she’s busy getting grants funded!
Kayla Zehner
Kayla is our project coordinator, and the one who makes sure that we are on schedule throughout the year! She’s got the long term goals down, and keeps us from straying too far from what we need to be doing. You can bug her, she will make sure you get any and all questions answered!
Anthony Deczynski
Anthony is one of the leaders of our screening center, and is an identification expert! He knows a lot about a lot of things, and is happy to talk to you about beetles, curation, archives, and even fossils! He helps us out with presenting out bugs and is the proud owner of Sally, a wonderfully sweet tarantula! Don’t bug him, he’s ensuring that no pest insects have slipped through our screening center without detection.
Anthony “Tony” Johnson
Tony Johnson is our man on the ground! He makes sure that we don’t miss a single event by doing a lot of it himself. Don’t bug him, he’s busy traveling or attending events.
Leah Wisener
Leah is our creative display extraordinaire! The lobby, better known as “The Ent,” has been her passion project during her time here, and has been beautifully transformed as she has dedicated time to it. Don’t bug her, she’s on the beautification crew!
JoVonn Hill
Dr. JoVonn Hill is the face of our operations, and spends his time ensuring that those who are interested in the museum have reasons to stick around and support us. He does this not only through attending things like faculty meetings, but also through personal interactions with all our guests to the museum. Don’t bug him, he’s probably in a meeting!
Adam Haberski
Adam is our collection manager for the Mississippi Entomological Museum and the one to take visitors through the museum to experience the wonders and importance of curation. You can bug him, he’ll be able to tell you when someone might be available to give you a tour of the museum!
Pat Wooden
Pat is our postdoctoral associate, but they are so much more than that! They have put together the Museums in Miniatures (MiMs) project that gives public libraries, schools, and extension facilities miniature museums in a museum-standard drawer along with information about all of the specimens for folks far and wide to see! You can bug them, especially if you or a group you know of is interested in supporting a MiM!
Harry Jones
Harry is our arthropod zookeeper! They manage all of the crew in the zoo, and ensures that our buggy friends are well-fed and well taken care of year-round. Don’t bug them, they’ve got enough bugs on their brain!
Kambrie LaFontaine
Kambrie is our social media queen! The reason we have an online presence and the way that we are able to stay cohesive between our incredibly varied types of events that we host. Don’t bug her, she’s making sure we get interactions on our announcements!
